[Have a weary-looking Cybil with a Zubat curled up, sleeping, on her shoulder. She looks...slightly miffed but she's keeping her cool and taking a breather in a Pokemon Center.]

Of course the weather starts getting better as soon as I get here. Don't think I want to be caught in the middle of traveling in a storm like that ever again.

I should have payed attention to the weather more carefully before heading out...I'm usually more forward-thinking than this...

[She rubs the back of her neck and shakes her head.]

So, for curiosity's sake [and she motions to the Zubat snoozing on her shoulder] how common are these bats? I caught this one before I headed out, but took shelter in a local cave and, even though I wasn't able to see much, I did catch glimpses of them every five seconds. I wish I was exaggerating.

[The blue-haired eleven-year-old on your screen is holding a dirtied notebook in her hands, inspecting it closely. Who keeps a personal travel log? THIS EXPLORER. Looks like she's eager to show off her knowledge!]

I saw lots of them flying around Routes... 30 and 31, and that cave you mentioned-- someone told me it's called Dark Cave. Totally original name. [She grins.] So yeah, there's lots of 'em around... But trust me, they evolve into something really cool! [And something with eyes, thank Arceus.]

For a place that has...uniquely named creatures, you'd expect more creativity when it comes to naming caves.

Yeah, I was expecting something a bit more... spooky, too. [A shrug.

And she nods, beaming with pride. She waves the notebook a little-- it's full of one-liners labeled with checkmarks and occasional doodles of spiders and furry monsters.] Yup. Someone's got to keep an explorer's log, after all! [AND SHE IS CLEARLY THE BEST CHOICE.]

A lot of creepy places don't exactly have the names to fit them, either.

[...though Silent Hill's a damn creepy name to begin with, but sound relatively peaceful when you don't know about all the crap that goes on behind the scenes.

... That's true. [Seriously, the Pink Palace? Just a teeny tiny bit creepy-- 'specially with the nightmare world just behind the complex's wallpaper.

She nods automatically to the question, dropping the notebook into her lap.]
Well, I try to... Not much interesting to see around the Pink Palace though. [Don't get her wrong, the size of the place and the colorful neighbors were coo', but the apartment itself was painfully boring.

She pauses, before adding, almost warily:] Mom and Dad work a lot, so they don't really mind either. They don't like me walking in the mud too much, though. Gets the rugs dirty-- [She wiggles her fingers mockingly.] --or something...
[... She misses them. She almost wants to hear the berating she'd get from them in response to the things she'd done in Johto.]
